IVP champions the work of global playwrights by creating opportunities to experience new and contemporary international plays on Chicago stages. IVP debuts voices from the world's stages through commissions, translations and production. We collaborate with consulates, cultural partners and universities throughout the Chicagoland area and partner with national and international theatres to promote global playwrights in their U.S. premieres.

International Voices Project (IVP) is proud to announce its return to live performance with the 13th season of play readings by playwrights from around the world, June 12 – 28th, at the Instituto Cervantes of Chicago, 31 W. Ohio St.
The International Voices Project is the largest event of its kind in the country and introduces Chicago audiences to some of the most exciting voices on the international theater scene. IVP champions the work of global playwrights by creating opportunities to experience new and contemporary international plays in urban settings and on stages in Chicago. It celebrates the mother tongue and fosters work that brings native languages to the forefront. From its inception, Chicago was conceived as the crossroads of the country. International Voices Project fosters new translations, supports the work of translators, and creates ongoing relationships with playwrights from the five continents.
Join us from 5:30 to 6:30 for a special pre-performance reception before each reading. Enjoy sweets, along with juice and coffee before we begin our reading. The reading will begin at 6:30 PM followed by a talkback.
